Overview

The American Institute for Manufacturing Integrated Photonics (AIM Photonics), is an industry driven public-private partnership that focuses the nation's premiere capabilities and expertise to capture critical global manufacturing leadership.

This workshop has been created for AIM partners and potential partners to learn more about the AIM program.

We recommend flying into the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA).

The Best Western South Coast Inn provides a complimentary shuttle service between the Santa Barbara airport and the hotel from 7:30am to 10:00pm. Please contact the hotel at 805-967-3200 to reserve a shuttle pick up from the airport to the hotel.  UCSB will provide shuttle transportation between the Best Western South Coast Inn and campus on February 29 & March 1. A shuttle schedule will be emailed to participants indicating they are using the shuttle service on their registration form.

Driving Directions to UC Santa Barbara

Complimentary parking has been reserved for workshop participants in Lot 22. Staff will be handing out parking permits from 9:00-10:30am on February 29.

U.S. 101 From the South

To Corwin Pavilion - Lot 3 (Leadership Council and Executive Team ONLY)

Take the Airport/UCSB exit (Highway 217) off U.S. 101 approximately eight miles north of Santa Barbara to the campus East Gate. Make a right turn on Lagoon Road as you circle the roud-a-bout.  Make a right turn on UCEN Road, and another right turn into Lot 3.

To Corwin Pavilion - Lot 22 (Workshop Participants)

Take the Airport/UCSB exit (Highway 217) off U.S. 101 approximately eight miles north of Santa Barbara to the campus East Gate. Make a right turn as you enter the round-a-bout onto Mesa Road.  Go 1/2 mile and turn left onto Ocean Road. Ocean Road will veer right at the bus loop. Continue on Ocean Road through the intersection of Ocean and El Colegio.

Complimentary parking will be available in lot 22 which will be on your left after you pass the El Colegio intersection on Ocean Road. UCSB staff will hand you a parking permit; please place the permit on your dashboard and follow the directional signs to Corwin Pavilion.

U.S. 101 From the North

To Corwin Pavilion - Lot 3 (Leadership Council and Executive Team ONLY)

Take the Los Carneros exit (Number 107) off U.S. 101 appropximately 10 miles north of Santa Barbara. Continue on Los Carneros for about 1.5 miles. Make a left turn onto Mes Road (Marked with UCSB sign).  Continue on Mesa Rd to the round-a-bout, make a right turn onto Lagoon Road.  Take a right turn on UCEN Road, and another right turn into Lot 3.

To Corwin Pavilion - Lot 22 (Workshop Participants)

Take the 101 freeway south to the Los Carneros exit. Turn right on Los Carneros, and follow it until it ends at El Colegio Road. Turn left on El Colegio and go 1/2 mile. Turn right onto Ocean Road.  Complimentary parking will be available in Lot 22, which will be on your left after you pass the El Colegio intersection on Ocean Road.  UCSB staff will hand you a parking permit; please place the permit on your dashboard and follow the directional signs to Corwin Pavilion.

For AIM Academy activities on March 1st:

Complimentary parking has been reserved in Lot 10. Staff will be handing out parking permits from 9:00-10:30am on March 1.

U.S. 101 From the North

Take the Los Carneros exit (Number 107) off U.S. 101 approximately 10 miles north of Santa Barbara. Continue on Los Carneros for about 1.5 miles. Make a left turn  onto Mesa Road (Marked with UCSB sign). Continue on Mesa Rd past 1 stop sign, and 2 traffic signals.  At the 3rd light, make a right turn into Lot #10, a multi-story parking ramp.
